Transparency
Portland Hacker Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting the Portland hacker community through grants, education, and community infrastructure.
This page is here to make the organization easier to understand and easier to trust.
What belongs here
Over time, this section should link to the key organizational documents people may reasonably want to review, including:
- IRS determination letter
- annual tax filings (Form 990 / 990-EZ / 990-N history, as applicable)
- governing documents such as bylaws
- conflict of interest policy, if adopted
- board and officer information
- grant process notes or governance summaries
Governance
PDXHF exists to direct resources into projects that strengthen the Portland hacker community.
That includes funding for open source tools, education, events, shared infrastructure, and other work that creates durable value beyond a single individual project.
As this site evolves, this page can also link to:
- board meeting summaries or approved minutes
- annual reports
- grant decision process notes
- sponsorship and donation transparency information
Documents
A documents directory is being prepared under /documents/.
That directory is the best place to upload PDFs and source files first. Once the documents are in place, we can add cleaner public links from this page and the main site navigation.
Why this matters
Good nonprofit infrastructure is not just about legal compliance. It is also about legibility.
The easier it is for people to understand how the foundation works, the easier it is for donors, applicants, and community members to trust it.
